I haven’t mentioned this before probably, but I am in this Facebook group where we do 30 runs in 30 days. I jog/walk mostly, but hey- I am doing it! I was so excited today to do 2.2 miles in 25 minutes. Probably sounds terrible to some of you because you may be able to walk it in that time. But it usually takes me 30 minutes to walk 2 miles, so it would take me over 30 to do 2.2 miles. And, don’t forget the fact that I am also doing 21 Day Fix. This means outside of the running I am doing a kick a– 30 minute workout too. So, I have a grueling Pilates workout later today. And when I say grueling, I mean that I have to pause this one and take a break. Out of the 7 days of 21 Day Fix, it is the only one I dread. Which means it kicks my butt.
Don’t let anyone tell you that what you are doing to work towards your goal is too small. My goal is to lose 50 pounds. Maybe these workouts or what I am eating do not rival what Jillian Michaels did to get where she is, but what I am doing is major for me. Like with my writing, I may not be a Pulitzer Prize winning writer, or the website I will be writing for may not be known to the average person but I am doing it.I am writing and expressing myself. Little by little, piece by piece, I am getting closer in some fashion to my goals. Strive to be higher than where you are, but don’t set your goals so high that you set yourself up to fail. For instance, I want to be more Christ like. All Christians should want to. But, I would be really depressed if I really thought I could be perfect. It is not possible.
The tortoise really does have something over that annoying hare. The hare is hyper and quick and agile, but the tortoise had patience and perseverance. The hare wanted and was use to instant results. The tortoise understood that that was just not in him. He could reach his goal aka the finish line, but if getting their quickly was the goal, then it just wasn’t his race! I feel the same way. I am a late bloomer. I am all over the place with what I want to accomplish and become. So, I am choosing a few important things-relationship with God, fitness and writing and trying to spend time and energy on those things. Once I am into a groove with them, then I will work on the lesser goals.
I haven’t tried the 21 Day Fix yet, but I do love Beach Body programs. Are you using the coloured boxes for your meals? I know that I wouldn’t do that part.

I absolutely needed this today! It’s about the journey getting to where you’re going–slow and steady is a positive race. Thank you for the reminder! 🙂

Thank you for reading. I am glad to know that I am not the only one that is in this slow but meaningful race!

It’s a good program. The containers seem like a pain, but once you know your calorie limit, after a week or so, the containers are so easy to do and I am good at eye balling it now. I recently became a beachbody coach initially to get the Shakeology discount, but I also signed up under my friend because she had so much weight loss success and I could see changes in my body after 3 weeks. But after 6 weeks, whoa! The workouts are so effective, but sometimes i am just not in the mood to hurt!:) But it’s worth it.
