So, another love poem while lying in the bed…

Paired by more than happenstance

Through the misty air I could feel your presence.

Though my eyes were closed and the waves were crashing hard against the rocks,

I knew you were there.

Even though there were no plans to have this clandestine meeting,

It didn’t surprise me that you traveled a continent away.

That’s the thing about a true soul connection,

There is a communication that can’t be logically explained.

Matchmakers and gurus and sometimes phony therapists,

Tout their views and rules on how to find the “perfect match”.

And it’s all just a big farce and scam because there is no recipe,

No magic potion or formula as to why some people fit in the way that they do.

If people are in search of the quintessential two, in unsion against all odds,

Then they need to study the magic of me and you…

simply~

I have tons of education and don't use it! I am non-traditional and traditional rolled into one person. I am a Christian, but need work! I am conservative fiscally, but I could care less who someone marries. My favorite things to do are: hang out with my kid, watch movies, read, write, sing, dance, love, live life to the fullest! I love: my kid, my cat, my best guy D, God, rain, chocolate, Christmas, friends, cats, animals in general, honesty, avocados, love, Hallmark channel, iced coffee, Harry Potter, NYC, England, Italy, D.C., Paris and autumn.

  1. This was such a beautiful piece! ❤
I simply loved that picture you brought into my mind with the first three lines.
They set the perfect tone for the rest of the poem.
Looking forward to reading more from you, Dee…

    1. Oh my gosh, thank you so much I actually took that picture one day and was looking for something to add to the poem. And I used to write poetry all the time in the 90s and haven’t written any more until recently. Thank you so much for the compliment because it’s scary to put poetry out their, my blog posts are much less of my soul:)

      1. Haha, I totally get that
But it’s really when you’re at your most vulnerable that you end up writing your best pieces.
Writing with your heart is scary but worth it! ❤
