So, it’s close to Christmas, a poem

So, as I lie here not ready for work and all of it’s intrinsically annoying ways,

I glimpse at the early morning light trying to burst it’s way through my blinds.

I dread the trek to the office for too many reasons to unburden,

but then I remember it is the Christmas season and all is well .

My candy cane and chocolate stuffed purse is ready to go to unsuspecting employees,

and my Vudu Christmas movie is ready to be played during breakfast prep.

My Hallmark magical handle is in place to be pushed to illuminate the tree followed by cheering elves,

and the Santa hat timidly waiting on my lamp’s shade is eager to take the journey ahead.

The thoughts of twinkling lights and steamy cocoa and Christmas cheer help me to make my exit from covers so warm,

into the cold day full of yuletide hope and cheer I plan to spread like fig preserves on a deserving piece of toast.

If only every day could be December I wish while packing up my laptop and gear,

but if that were the case then everyday would be considered the most wonderful time of the year.

Now that is a world I could readily get used to,

shiny gifts and attitudes all pleasant and adornments at every turn.

So, I will enjoy and revel in each remaining day of the season and imagine that there will be no end,

if only…

Dee

I have tons of education and don't use it! I am non-traditional and traditional rolled into one person. I am a Christian, but need work! I am conservative fiscally, but I could care less who someone marries. My favorite things to do are: hang out with my kid, watch movies, read, write, sing, dance, love, live life to the fullest! I love: my kid, my cat, my best guy D, God, rain, chocolate, Christmas, friends, cats, animals in general, honesty, avocados, love, Hallmark channel, iced coffee, Harry Potter, NYC, England, Italy, D.C., Paris and autumn.
