So do you wear your ideology on your sleeve? Should you?

So, are you the type of person that lets everyone know where you stand in regards to things that mean the most to you? That could be religion, politics, your lifestyle, your commitment to veganism or helping animals. Many of us have at least one thing that we feel strongly about and once we get started talking about it, it can be hard to stop. I totally get it, I can go on a tangent and sometimes those I love the most are on the receiving end of it because I can’t comfortably share it with other people.

But keep in mind not everyone feels the same. Below are some reasons why you may want to share your point of view or belief-

Conviction

It is great to be a person that is not vapid, and someone who cares about the greater good. But is the conviction you have something that should come in every conversation that you have to bring up in every conversation? If it is really is that important to you, let people know about it. But if you come off preachy, or notice that people are not receptive. please do yourself a favor and talk about it with people. But it helps if it is with those on the same page as you are, or at least interested in what you have to say. Remember, often the best example of a certain belief system is living it, not pontificating on it constantly.

Education

If you are a pastor, professor, a subject matter expert (sbe) or an influencer in whatever area that you are passionate about, then you may have more license to speak on it. Or, people may be more receptive to it. For instance, if you blog on Christianity, people who are also Christians, or whom are learning about Christ will be glad to read what you have to say. Not that you should worry about if what you are saying will be received well by everyone, but the point is, your captive audience will be people whom are like-minded or seeking knowledge in this area because they sought you out.

Because you can’t help yourself (or because they need help)

Maybe you are the type of person who knows a lot about this subject or many subjects and people come to you with their issues, so you tell it like it is. If this is you, it is fine. Maybe you are really experienced, perhaps not in the way that an SBE or influencer is, but in practical life application. I tend to fall into this category when it comes to parenting (sometimes politics) and I give my opinions quite readily, well received or not. Because if someone is constantly talking about the same thing and how it isn’t working, or they are making the same mistakes over and over, it is hard to listen to without having input. It REALLY is!

The point of today’s post? If you feel this intense desire to share your heart or passion for your love of God or animals or a political party, that is great! But just realize that some people are not open to receiving what is important to you because it may not be the right time, they may not comprehend it, or they just don’t care! Whatever the case, don’t stop being passionate and give up on your convictions, but just know that not everyone feels the same, and that’s completely okay! Keep being you and those that matter won’t mind!

I have tons of education and don't use it! I am non-traditional and traditional rolled into one person. I am a Christian, but need work! I am conservative fiscally, but I could care less who someone marries. My favorite things to do are: hang out with my kid, watch movies, read, write, sing, dance, love, live life to the fullest! I love: my kid, my cat, my best guy D, God, rain, chocolate, Christmas, friends, cats, animals in general, honesty, avocados, love, Hallmark channel, iced coffee, Harry Potter, NYC, England, Italy, D.C., Paris and autumn.
