So, one thing to remember…

So, through experiences both recent and many from the past, I have surmised one big thing-

Just because you act or respond in a certain manner does not mean everyone will do the same.

Once we all realize this simple fact, the happier and less disappointed we all will be. If you are like me and want to enjoy life and just give love as much as possible, then you will agree to not expect too much from others or misery will be your best friend.

For example, if someone is behind me in line at the market and I notice that they have a few items, I will let them go ahead. And I often pay for the coffee of who I am meeting with. But it would be remiss of me to think that someone would do the same for me.

Clearly people are different and if you are like me, you too get attitudes. Trust me, I am not always a sweetheart, especially when I am dealing with DMV drivers 😁. But I do try my darnedest no matter what the circumstances may be to

Follow the Golden Rule.

You probably do to. If there is nothing else in the world that people can agree on, ‘Doing Unto Others’ is a basic premise of life. Or at least it should be. Any decent person no matter what their background or belief system has heard about this concept.

But just because everyone knows about this rule, doesn’t mean that they will follow it. If you put other people’s feelings or needs first but it doesn’t always get reciprocated, then that is just how life goes. If you tell yourself this truth in: work, interpersonal relationships and as a member of the human race, it will help to not get so disappointed and frustrated on a daily basis.

I guess that is why I am so crazy about animals because they have unconditional love and an innocence that people lose very early in life. As long as their basic needs are met then they give love freely with no pretense. Even abandoned animals wag their tail and are so grateful when rescued and they just aim to please and show love.

The moral of this post?

Do unto others, but if they do not do unto you, let it go and be happy anyway.

I have tons of education and don't use it! I am non-traditional and traditional rolled into one person. I am a Christian, but need work! I am conservative fiscally, but I could care less who someone marries. My favorite things to do are: hang out with my kid, watch movies, read, write, sing, dance, love, live life to the fullest! I love: my kid, my cat, my best guy D, God, rain, chocolate, Christmas, friends, cats, animals in general, honesty, avocados, love, Hallmark channel, iced coffee, Harry Potter, NYC, England, Italy, D.C., Paris and autumn.
