So, why do we blog? For self healing? To help others become better versions of themselves through our advice/commentary? Or to assuage our need to be/feel important? Or because we are artists of sorts?
For some, wanting to get out thoughts, feelings and releasing stress one may be carrying around could be an impetus for creating. But for others, the hope that someone out there who can relate to the same trials can benefit from another point of view can be rewarding. Even if they gain a teensy bit of relief from this new perspective.
And yes, it is nice to have likes, responses and validation. Especially, hearing good things from total strangers, it is a nice feeling. It is like, “okay, I have something to offer, to contribute.” So, a sense of being a useful human does come into play too. Especially if it is not felt from people who are in one’s real daily life.
This topic came to mind because it seems like many people, particularly in relation to social media, live their lives in such a calculated manner to garner more attention. Social media has made the term narcissist come to life and be more of a common word and less of a psychology based word. But bloggers seem to be more artistic than narcissistic, right? And does blogging fall under the umbrella of social media fully?
What are your thoughts? There are no wrong answers. Reasons for blogging or doing podcasts or becoming an influencer and the like, can change. Maybe someone started writing their blog to prove a point or show expertise of some kind, but then the focus shifted because of something that happened along the way due to personal growth or life experiences that had a real impact.
Whatever the reason, creating, opening up a conversation you are passionate about is what is important at the end of the day. Because out of an idea that may have been simplistic or maybe thought to be vanity driven can possibly breed inspiration or brilliance. Creating can evolve and develop into something totally new the longer you keep at it.
Whatever you do-Keep on creating!

That’s an interesting assumption about blogging. I think most people in the blogging community are authors or artists who start a blog to build an audience, learn things, and share their journey. That’s my own experience then along the way, I was surprised at how kind and supportive most people are on here. I think my blog’s really blossomed into other areas as well – it’s like a platform to share some things I’ve learned, or share no words and just pictures.
I hope you enjoy your experience here. ❤

People are kind. And I was not trying to assume, moreso, asking what people think or what reasons they started. I think I started for multiple reasons and they have evolved from caring to become a famous blogger to simply sharing my experiences, to wanting to help others, etc. Will def check you out! Have a good week!

Oh, and by the way, I looked back at post and posted the wrong/incomplete version. Should make more sense now I often write a shell of a post and fill in and change. Thanks for your reply!
