What is one word that describes you?
One word to describe me fully, would be devoted. I was going to say loyal or unwavering, but devoted just fits. If it is a job or a meal plan or a relationship with anyone Iove, I am hopelessly devoted, yes, like Sandy in Grease.
I am not a doormat. I will clap back if people are rude to me or unappreciative. And I won’t tolerate disrespect. But unless people whom I love really hurt me or do me wrong in a way that is hard to move past, I will have their back to the very end.
I am not this way with very many people, but the ones that I am dedicated to, I will do everything in my God given power not to let them down.
It is innate. I have a fierceness about me when it comes to supporting people in an emotional way when I love them. Going to the mattresses for them is an understatement. Sometimes, I wish that I were not that way, but it is a big part of the fabric of my being.
When God was in heaven giving traits to us, I thought He said promoted, but it was devoted😆. (Please forgive my past my bedtime dad humor)

Choosing one word to describe yourself is like trying to catch the ocean in a tiny cup. No matter what word you pick, so much spills over.
“Devoted” is a powerful choice. It’s like a lighthouse—steady, reliable, always guiding others even when the waves get rough. But even the strongest lighthouse needs care. If people mistake devotion for blind loyalty, they forget that true commitment also means knowing when to walk away from storms that never calm.
Maybe life isn’t about finding just one word. Maybe we are like books—some pages are kindness, some are fire, and some are just about eating a really good meal. And that’s okay.

I love the lighthouse analogy. And you are so right about blind loyalty and devotion. I used to be that person, but no longer! Thanks for the comment!
