So, a million dollars could go fast when there are so many deserving parties. First off, my little protestant church would get 200K. They are so giving, loving and do so much for the community for the small amt of members. Next I would give 200K to the local county animal shelter. I would also give 100K to Tohan Animal Shelter in NY and 100K to Takis Shelter in Greece. Then I would go over to Salvation Army on the national level and give them 200K because they are very low on admin costs, i.e., most of their funding actually goes to help people. With the last 100K, I would start a fund for arts students who want to go to college for Acting/MT/Dance who may not be able to afford all of the artistic application fees and college apps. And it would also help with travel to auditions. (My kid went through it the last yr and it costs 1000s).

I wish I had a million more to give because then I would start with providing food for people and building/rebuilding homes for elderly or disabled or veterans.
