So, I waited 15 years and it happened!

So guess what? I got a prayer answered that I have waited on for at least 15 years. I have dreamed of an at home job since my daughter was little-she is now a freshman in college.

And recently, I applied for a month straight, looking day and night. I applied to things above and below my skills. And then suddenly I got multiple replies.

And the funniest thing is that my interview was over the phone at the Natural  History Museum in their cafeteria while doing local sight seeing.

D planned a brunch and museum date for us. By the time we walked from brunch to the museum it was exactly 330. So he walked around and I talked for an hour straight. I got the job on the spot. No references checked. No difficult questions. She just liked me. And I liked her. Kismet. It was my time. Out of 450 applicants and I was the 1st and only interview!

I will be working 100 percent remote from 9a to 5p. The job is not too high pressure and the team is nice. So nice! I met them today via Google Meet. They were bubbly, kind and welcoming. Even the CEO is approachable. And they all love their jobs and have been there between 3 and 10 years.

After this experience, I truly believe that what we pray for takes time and God’s time is not ours. In this case, it happened 6 mos before my move to NY. I desperately needed to have a job set up before moving.

Eureka! It happened. And just when I needed it! So do not give up. It can and will happen. Sometimes our plans are great, but are not going to happen when we wish.

This sounds cliché, but keep the faith. Do not lose hope. If it is meant to happen and if you work hard, things will turn out wonderfully. I am someone who always thought good things happened to others.

But the gift of my kid, having a great mom, D and my gorgeous cat are signs that I won the blessings lottery. The job is merely the chocolate icing.

    • I have been there a year this week and am so thankful. There are some days that I don’t want to do any work, but 99 percent of the time I am so happy. I am in the bed now doing work. I hope you find what you are looking for. When your class is over for the summer, if it is, dedicate a month to looking for jobs every day. You will find something!

      • I absolutely hope I find something. I sometimes get discouraged and feel like all this work will be for nothing, but since I am also about to take some Psychology classes, if probation doesn’t work out, I have something to fall back on.
There’s a program in IL. that works with youth on the wrong path, and I know the guy who runs it, so I’m hoping if we do move back there next summer, I can fall back on that as well.
        We shall see!
Best of luck to BOTH of us for great futures! 🙂
