So, for me, a free thinker rules…

Which aspects do you think makes a person unique?

So, I think being a free thinker is a unique and rare attribute these days. So many people follow the crowd, trend, or are afraid of what others will think. I admire someone who is able to read through the manure and figure out what is truth and what is fiction.

I am a free thinker, so perhaps I am biased. But what is special about following lock step and listening to what you are told, without intellectual curiosity or using one’s intuition to figure out what is truly right?

We saw this during the pandemic. People abandoning science, common sense, logic. All because an entity told them to. And it didn’t lime up. It was all one huge oxymoron to me.

Politicians are another instance where you must trust your gut. They walk into positions in the District making 6 figures and are suddenly multi-millionaires. We are fighting D vs R and Red Vs Blue. They are on their yachts, in the Vineyard, playing golf. Enemies on TV, friends in real life.

You get the point, I think free thinkers are ‘all that and a bag of jalapeño chips’. But a close 2nd in unique attribuite would be a free spirit (the word free is the theme here). It is refreshing because they are just so “not cookie cutter”. Which is refreshing these days!

Someone who dresses as they please, goes with the flow. Can watch Real Housewives one minute and a documentary about real occurrences in Dostoevsky’s The Idiot. Someone who knows how to dress and what to bring for afternoon tea and a polo match or a hike through a state park or urban jungle.

Free spirits do not judge or like to be judged. They have their belief systems and respect others. They cannot be put into a box or compared because they broke the mold!

That is my 2 cents!

What do you think?
