So, cats are everything…

What animals make the best/worst pets?

So, first off. I love all animals except rodents or snakes. Possums are cute. I adore foxes. Raccoons are precious. And of course I think dogs are bomb diggety. But cat’s are the “TP” (total package).

They are quiet and clean and smallish. I love that many of them love to be loved, yet they are not up in your face around the clock. Purrfect example- I came to take an after work nap and my kitty is almost in arm’s reach. I move around a lot so it is fine with me. See below.

(By the way that is not dust on the blanket it is feather residue- it is down:)

And as he saw that I am stirrring and awake, he got a little closer. (Below) I love his independent nature and the fact that putting “birdy tv” on Youtube on a timer is a great source if entertainment for him. He watches birds and squirrels with glee and then when I am home I let him out on the chicken wired patio to see them in nature behind our place.

He loves his mommy, but gives the space I need, sometimes too much as he gets addicted to the blanket in the walk in closet. But I know he is here. He lets me know he wants food twice a day. He comes up throughout the day and asks for pets through rubbing against my leg or loving on my hand.

And people say they don’t miss their parents when we leave. It just isn’t true. When we walk in the door he walks straight towards the front door out of his sleep, to greet us. I wish people would give cats more of a chance and treasure them more. It seems like they have a lot of haters. But places like Paris and Turkey are enamored with them. The photo below I took in Paris at Shakespeare and Co. Shhhh. They don’t like pics taken there. And they had an elaborate set up for the kitty to come in and out of the building.

And the cat below was called Bengal and came with our 8 day Paris apt situation. He was kinda kooky, but having him in Paris helped not to miss mine so much.

Lastly, I took this on a wall near Montmartre. There was art and reverence for cats all over the place. If I as cool as I am like cats 😉 and Paris thinks they are all that, surely there must be something to it.
And think about all of the sayings: cat’s pajamas, cat’s meow, nine lives, it’s raining cats and dogs (cats are listed first), cat nap, scaredy cat, look what the cat dragged in.

I could go on but I won’t. Even famous writers had love for felines.
