If you could be a character from a book or film, who would you be? Why?

So, I adore Meryl. Just a lot a bit. A lot of characters she plays are awesome. And of course her insane acting ability lends to the awesomeness.

But my fave is Jane Adler in It’s Complicated. Jane is is a close to 60 single mom of 3. She was cheated on, catered when she was married and then became the owner of a bakery. Doesn’t sound very appealing huh? Trust me, there is a reason why Jane is so fab. Wait for it…

Jane is rich. Jane is beautiful. Her home is a dream estate. Her business is euphoric. Jane’s character is one of the inspirations for the term coined by some 20 something on Tik Tok- “Coastal Grandmother”. And Nancy Meyer Core. This movie like all of Nancy Meyers movies are full of rich, beautiful, well put together people- think The Holiday with Cameron and Kate or Father of the Bride. Whether we want to admit it or not, it is a winning combo pretty much always.

Her clothes and furnishings are gorge. Her friends are loyal and fab. Jane’s kids adore her. Her ex husband wants her back and at the end of the day she wants the good guy (not the ex) and to enjoy her insanely beautiful life and people in it.

She was always blessed and privileged it seems, but in the end we all have issues. And Jane chooses what is really best for her and what truly makes her soul sing. Her family, friends, her business and her sweet love interest  Steve Martin-I adore him. (Meyers must too since he was also in FOTB)

I am not 60ish, I am not rich (yet), I do not live in a gorgeous mini estate in Cali. But I am enjoying my next chapter. I am upping the wardrobe with creamy cashmere-thanks D. And I am coming into my own fully, knowing what I want, do not want, and what I will accept and not accept. I don’t have a girl gang or a trio of always there girlfriends to confide in, yet. But I have my kid, my cat, D, a fab new remote job. And hella good taste in movie characters!

2nd runner up would be Kathleen Kelly in You Got Mail. NYC small book shop owner. Impeccable style and full life.:)
