So, are you still you when you travel???

When I travel, which is nearly not enough and to not too many places, I don’t want to be just regular me. Not that my fashion sense isn’t good, because dressing well is part of who I am (most of the time), but I like to be different when I am somewhere else.

Even when I visit my hometown, I try different outfit combos that I don’t normally wear in D.C. Maybe I pull out my short boots and wear them with leggings and a knee length dress. Or wear a hat that I haven’t pulled out in years. When I travel to places besides home, I try to not look touristy, so I wear my normal black ensemble. It works really well in NYC:).

But besides clothing, I try to push the envelope. I try to be bolder in my choices. Maybe I will order the raw salmon appetizer that I would typically avoid. Or, I will go to an event or neighborhood that locals go to that may not actually be my cup of tea, but is different enough to not be me. I don’t want to go to Paris and just see the Eiffel Tower or just go to the top 10 places rated by Fodor’s. I want to go to a cafe that artists and poets go to. Or venture a few miles out of the city and go to a mom’s and pop’s patisserie.

Are you like that? Do you stay on the tour bus, or do you jump off and make your own tour? I am the kind of person that won’t buy the birthday package at a store or place, but take bits and pieces of activities at different places and make a party that is mine. You know, take the best parts of a situation or place and tailor it to fit me or my style.

Now don’t get me wrong, I won’t jump off a bus anywhere without a bit of research. I do have the kind of personality that thinks about crime and bad areas, etc. But, I look into it before an adventure, therefore not taking the fun out of being exciting and adventurous.

Darn! Now, I want to go on an awesome trip! Not just to see family or for a reason, but just because. Well, a girl can dream. And, make lists. And add some dollars to our Paris/Europe destination jar.:)

So, a lot has happened since I’ve been gone. Most of it sucky…

Wow. So terrorism is always running rampant somewhere. It is like a B-action movie that never ends. But this Paris stuff was just a ticking time bomb and I do not mean that as a joke. For years, extremists have taken over parts of Paris and forced their rule of law which includes Sharia law and have pretty much said, you don’t follow our way of life then stay out of our hood.

I call it BS Why are governments so liberal and politically correct? Do they not see that it doesn’t work? I am not a gun nut. At all. As a matter of fact, I shot a rifle for the first time ever a week ago. And, I got all of the bullets in the same spot.:) I digress, but all of these gun free zones is where terrorist acts are occurring.

Like the one predicted or scheduled to happen here in D.C. All of the areas that they could/would/will strike have no carry laws. But if they come to VA with their nonsense, they would be in a world of hurt because Virginians are packing, and packing heavy. It is like I am referring to the wild, wild west. Or, I feel like we are living in those times, but much worse. These folks are enemies that are hard to peg down and there are no rules of engagement.

I am not an Islamophobe I don’t think. But it does get harder and harder to be around people of that persuasion, when all of this violence and hate goes on and it is rare that other Muslims stand up and say it is wrong. I get so annoyed with anti-religious folks bashing Christians. Especially when they bring up the Crusades deal like Obama did. Not forgetting that the Crusades happened when times were not civilized.

For some reason when it comes to this religion, people are afraid to call a spade a spade. Well, I don’t hate any race or religion. I try to be kind to all, to live my life in a decent and respectful manner and I never have a goal to hurt anyone. How can people be attracted to this extreme way of living where death and destruction is the goal? Are these the end times?

Well, I know one thing for sure. I know these “refugees” are not coming north and west because of global warming like the genius CIA director said. This brainwashing done by Obama has even the CIA sounding ridiculous. If you guys are mad that I am not supporting the president, tough crap. I try not to be political on here. I really do. But if you are still blaming other presidents or still in denial, I don’t know how to help you at this point.

I wasn’t around during Nazi Germany, obviously, but this climate we are in with the president and his flowery language and the media licking his boots, it is eerie and sounds too familiar.

So sick and sad about what our country has turned into or not turned into…

I may be new to writing on this blog, but I am not new to blogging, or social media. That being said, I don’t have much more to say tonight except for our government and administration in general is displaying no backbone at all. I am independent and could really care less what anyone’s political party is. The basic facts are: Paris march occurred and no major member of our government participated but 44 other world leaders did. The slaughter in Nigeria just happened and it is virtually impossible to find it on the news. Since I heard of it from a friend, I have watched the news for 5 hours and saw less than a minute mentioned. Our military social media got hacked by some extremist group making us look like fools. But our freaking government is too scared to call it terrorism or Islamic extremism. If it walks like a duck and looks like a duck and acts like a duck. It is a f—–ing duck!

We have such a wonderful country where all of these people from different countries get away from restrictive regimes. But then many come here and complain about our government. I don’t understand why we keep allowing so many people to come here from areas where we have known enemies by the millions! I am not racist. I am a nationalist and wish more American people would wake the hell up. Only GOD can save us because we are in a deep mess and our leadership is afraid to offend…

It would be remiss of me not to mention my sorrow for…

I don’t know why we are so afraid to say that the people that are terrorizing people on nearly every edge of the world are terrorists and extremists. Why can’t the president just say that? We do not have to be and cannot be politically correct all of the time. When some extremist Christian people were bombing abortion clinics, they were called Christian wackos. As a matter of fact when people talk about terrorists, the argument by many is that Christians at one time did acts of terrorism hundreds of years ago in the name of religion.

But, these terrorists are doing all of those acts in the name of religion in the modern world and all over the world. There is no limit to who they kill. They kill people in their own religion, people who lack religion, people in “opposing religions”. It should not have taken the killing of artists for so many people to wake up. The freedom of speech thing has been threatened with every killing that these people have committed. Because anyone that does not think or speak or act or look like they do is an instant enemy.

All of that being said, it saddens me that Paris has had to go through this. But this is just the beginning of this kind of crap if these monstrous acts are not stopped. We as human beings all around the world need to join as one, get our heads out of our asses and call a spade a spade. Pretending that there is not a problem or that this kind of thing will not happen to us is ludicrous and nonsensical. Remember 9/11?  Darkness, ugliness, sorrow and pain is what these people wish for mankind. It is like a bad movie where a couple of the characters attempt to “take over the world” except it is real and scary and makes one wonder how the future can possibly be bright.

No matter, this week I pray not only for Paris, but also for our country and leaders all over the world. Even if you are not the praying kind, it is time to be because it seems that nowhere is a safe haven except faith in Jesus Christ or God.
