SO, the sky is the limit in 2020!

So, all I can say for 2020 is that we have rocked it so far!

Six garbage bags of donations/trash from my daughter’s room!

I have started back with my online trainer and customized meal plan.

Got my kid signed up for voice lessons and she is in a play Feb 1st and has auditions for another show!

Got D some kick a– presents for his bday next week.

I feel so accomplished and the calendar is still in week 1! So speaking of these accomplishments thus far, today’s post is about:

ACTION

For all of the things that you want to accomplish, don’t spend hours talking about it or endless lists and boards about what you want to do. Just take action! When people say there is no time like the present, it is so true!

Bullet journals and vision boards are amazing. But personally with what I want/need to accomplish, I have decided to spend less on the planning and more on the doing.

What I am focusing on this year:

*Getting my Children’s book in front of a publisher

*Substantial weight loss

*Improving sleep habits

*Saving money/paying bills

Working on sleep and weight and have paid on debt for awhile, but am looking for a better job to boost income. I am most afraid of submitting the book! But this weekend I am going to make a list of potential publishers and next week, take action! Can’t succeed without trying!

Jumping in and working without strict deadlines is helpful. The laissez faire approach makes it less stressful and intimidating vs feeling like a failure if things aren’t achieved quickly.

Having a loose idea of when you want things done is wonderful, and you are not setting yourself up for failure by too much pressure which yield more results.

Jotting down an outline is smart but being realistic is key. We all have jobs, families and responsibilities, so it is natural to get delayed a bit. So make allowances for that.

Taking action now and starting the process is the only way to make dreams come true or to check off that pesky to-do-list.

Moral of the story- Do not wait for tomorrow to accomplish what your heart and mind desire. Life is fleeting- don’t delay!

I would love to know what you are working towards. Email me (dee@simplydeeindc.com) or leave a comment here.

Remember- the sky’s the limit! Just do it!

  1. This is such a motivating pos! Go girl!

First things first, I need to start making lists, take action and start crossing things off. I am so bad at making list and creating timelines but I wonder if it will help me accomplish some things I keep saying I’m going to do but don’t. I appreciate your tips!

    1. Thanks beautiful! Don’t worry about all the lists and timelines! Just start right this moment on one thing you are interested in doing/improving/achieving. The act of beginning will make you feel accomplished! Xo

  2. Hi Dee,

What an amazing start to the New Year!

I am doing Gretchen Reuben’s Happiness Project this year. This is where you assign a category to each month such as work, love or home and you make 4 or 5 resolutions related to each category. I have also written a 20 goals for 2020 list. I am writing about my Happiness Project on my blog if you are interested in reading it.

    1. I absolutely love it and have followed you! What a great idea! Adorable pics btw. Tried to comment on your post but it only allowed me to like it. Glad we connected! Also, I bought a journal for Happiness Project a couple of years back but didn’t stick to it. I am inspired!

  3. Yes! I definitely need to take action. I had a rough week at work that has put me in a bad mood and put all my creative pursuits on the back burner. I was too grumpy to work on the stuff I really want to work on. So today and tomorrow, I want to shake off the week I had, and get moving!
    Great post!
