So, Friday’s are all about- Seen. Heard. Experienced. In the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia)

So, here we go. Today’s installment is all about what was Seen and Heard in the good old DMV.

Seen

What is the DMV without density in traffic? Well, it gets pretty bad and many of the drivers should not be behind the wheel. This brings me to my point- At one time in life we are all new to something- First steps, first words, first kiss, driving the first time. About driving; there is a craze here where 1 in 10 cars have a new driver warning on the back of the car. Either we have an unusual amount of 16/17 year olds, or people use these stickers to back people off of them because they are just bad drivers. More than likely it is the latter. The car pictured below has not one, but 2 stickers. I was stuck behind their crazy driving while taking my kid to school. And guess what? The driver was a parent, which goes to my point of who the stickers are really for. Hmmmm…

Seen

So, an out-of-the-box dresser was seen at a local Wegman’s ccustomer service counter.(the best supermarket in the country, but also the planet) https://amp.businessinsider.com/review-of-wegmans-the-best-grocery-chain-in-the-us-2017-6

I digress, in the DC area, dress here would be considered to be understated or on the conservative side. But this young woman threw all caution to the wind with her ensemble. It made Friday in the DMV a little more colorful and interesting. And, she is in fashion with the current burgundy/floral trend. So kudos to you, you cool and bold customer. You put the yay in Friyay!

Heard

A woman pulls her car up in front of a store to run in to Starbucks. The shopping center only has 2 businesses open in the 7 o’clock hour, so pulling in front of an unopened store seems okay. Well, someone in a rickety Chevy did not agree. As she steps out of the car, he yells- “Nice parking space you f—–g idiot.” She says back to him: “Thank you very much. You are too kind.” He again yells: “F—–g idiot.” She retorts- “Have a great day!” The guy peels away angrily. Her snark and calmness against his rage and vulgarity was funny, yet sad. She ran in for a to-go coffee. He didn’t have to pass by her and was going in a different direction and she impeded traffic in no way. It was kind of shocking, odd and cowardly because he was no where near her while yelling expletives and it was unprovoked! The aggressive nature of drivers in DMV is alarming and honestly exhausting. But she handled it with style and grace…

  1. Don’t even get me started on traffic, the drivers here in LA are terrible. You just never know when you’re gonna come to a full stop in the middle of the freeway.
And oh wow, props to this girl and her boots!
Wow, the guy yelling is just proof that there are plenty of miserable people in this world.

  2. I think I’m going to need one of those stickers whenever I finally get my driver’s license again. Haha! Oh god. It’s probably best for everyone if I don’t get on the road again.

I really like that woman’s boots! And the dress too but not sure if I like it together, however, she looked like she could pull it off. 😉

That aggressive guy sounds awful. I wish I could handle that as well as that women. I do not like confrontation that’s for sure.

I love your DMV posts and all your posts! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for replying I feel like some people are not totally into the DMV posts but when you write lifestyle blogs it’s kind of nice to have at least something predictable about them, right? I can bet hat you’re better than 99% of the drivers here lol.
