So, how do people become so popular?

I know people online who have a quarter of a million followers. What on earth do they do to have that many? Is there a special charisma or that X-Factor that makes them stand out from the rest? I know that some people are just great singers or writers and some people are not shy about wearing skimpy clothing. But for those that don’t have a banging body or aren’t super celebs, what is it?

Is it that mysterious thing called an X-Factor? Or is it that people just work their butts off? Or a combo of both? I know several very inspirational people that seemingly work all day and night to share their message or vision. I think that these people are like superheroes or something because they never seem to stop toiling or inspiring. I guess that if the passion is there, then it will show in the posts or in their body of work.

Do any of you have passion like that about what you do? About anything? I think for me, I care about several things, but I don’t have a driving passion for any one thing. I don’t know if it is not listening to God, or not being focused enough or what. But wow, to wake up and be pushed by the desire so strong to do that one thing all of the time and do it well must feel amazing.

I am waiting on that nudge. I try to motivate myself and be positive and have a to do list, etc. But it seems to me that this kind of force or yearning to do whatever it is these superheroes of sorts love has to just be within from the get go? Whatever the deal is, or however they got/get inspired, I am admire it. And, I guess that is why so many other people do about these magical/mystical folks, because it is rare.

I have tons of education and don't use it! I am non-traditional and traditional rolled into one person. I am a Christian, but need work! I am conservative fiscally, but I could care less who someone marries. My favorite things to do are: hang out with my kid, watch movies, read, write, sing, dance, love, live life to the fullest! I love: my kid, my cat, my best guy D, God, rain, chocolate, Christmas, friends, cats, animals in general, honesty, avocados, love, Hallmark channel, iced coffee, Harry Potter, NYC, England, Italy, D.C., Paris and autumn.

  1. You know, I feel like if I could focus my blog on one topic – I’d probably have a better following than I do now. I just remind myself that I never started this in hopes of getting followers and need to just keep it as what works for me. Like you, I’m interested in too many things to just focus on one!

  2. Exactly! I love your blog though! I think that you and I just love to share things that matter to us and that is as important as tons of followers. I feel that I could write better if I focused on one or two things, but it just isn’t me. I am always thinking about 1000 things at one time, so it is natural to write about so many things.:)

  3. I have a “lifestyle” blog, which means I pretty much write about anything. When I started my blog, I didn’t care about followers but now connecting with people is my favourite part of the process. It’s the interaction that makes blogging different than, say, just writing in a personal journal.

The passion you describe is how I feel about writing and animal welfare. Those two things drive me every single day.

    1. Wow, we have a lot in common. I don’t care about the scores of people either. I guess a lifestyle blog is me as well. I feel that I am more apt to write here than a journal, and I do love “meeting” new people on here and reading other people’s thoughts. Oh, animals are soooo meaningful to me. I am always boycotting places that have certain practices or that purchase from different places, etc. We’re kindred!
